We change the pictures in our main waiting room
about three or four times a
year and regularly hold themed exhibitions. Our aim is to make
sure that the room is always attractive to sit in and
sometimes also thought provoking. Other art works like Banksy's and Martin Parr's photographs are to be
found in the corridors and consulting rooms.
Permanent displays
Liz Lee & Susie Freeman
Since 1998 Liz Lee has worked with the textile artist Susie
Freeman in an art partnership called Pharmacopoeia.
They are best known for the permanent installation Cradle to
Grave in the Living and Dying gallery of the British Museum.
They make art with a medical theme and much of the work
incorporates active pharmaceuticals which are knitted into
flexible fabrics. A number of works have been based on the
medical experiences of our patients. Their permission has
always been sought first.
The work called Sweetie hangs
above the stairwell in the health centre. Click
